It seems only a matter of time before Jordan Henderson completes his much-anticipated move to Al-Ettifaq.

Rumours started to circulate last week that the 33-year-old was interested in a move to the club managed by Reds legend Steven Gerrard.

Things appeared to be moving quite quickly when it was reported that Henderson had agreed to personal terms and a three-year contract.

The one sticking point however was that the Saudi club wanted the England international on a free transfer whilst the Anfield hierarchy were determined that they should receive an appropriate fee for their skipper.

They finally agreed to do business on Wednesday for a reported fee of £12million plus add-ons.

According to James Pearce, it appears to be just a matter of time before the transfer is finalised after Henderson completed his medical in Manchester on Friday.

What Now For Liverpool Once Jordan Henderson Departs?

With Fabinho also looking likely to depart for Saudi after Al-Ittihad made an offer of £40million, it looks like it will be a busy few weeks ahead for Reds chiefs.

Immediately on the agenda it seems will be to seek midfield reinforcements to add to the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Romia Lavia of Southampton and Cheick Doucoure of Crystal Palace are rumoured to be admired at Anfield but could prove expensive options.

Liverpool may now be forced to pay a premium for their targets however with the new season due to get underway in just three weeks’ time.
