It has been a dramatic summer at Liverpool in terms of midfield incomings and outgoings.
Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all departed at the end of last season but Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were brought in to soften the blow of losing the trio.
As Jurgen Klopp prepared his squad for the pre-season campaign, he was hit by the news that skipper Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were the subject of interest of Saudi clubs.
Henderson has since completed his move to Al-Ettifaq and reports today have suggested that Fabinho is undergoing his medical at Al-Ittihad.
The departures of two of Klopp’s most experienced players were not expected and has forced Liverpool to re-think their options before the summer transfer window closes.
Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia seems most likely to be next through the door at Anfield with the Reds seemingly leading Chelsea in the race for the talented 19-year-old.
Andre Trindade to the Premier League?
According to Bruno Andrade, super agent Jorge Mendes is in the process of bringing Brazilian international Andre Trindade to the Premier League.
The Fluminense midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool and other English clubs over recent weeks although reports have suggested, the South American team are not keen to lose him before the end of the Serie A season this winter.
The Transfer Room Verdict
Liverpool normally prefer to see players flourish in a top-five league before making their move,
That would appear to make an approach for Andre unlikely but with other clubs spending big, perhaps the way of thinking at Anfield could change. Only time will tell.
