The Reds are keen on signing the 22-year-old defensive midfielder this summer but the Brazilian club are unwilling to do business just yet.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have already made a verbal offer worth £26m (€30m) hoping to convince Fluminese into selling one of their prized assets.

Fluimenese are set to face Paraguayan side Olimpia in the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores over two legs and the club are keen on winning the tournament, therefore, they do not want to sanction a move for Andre.

He has racked up a total appearance of 148 and made six goal contributions across all competitions for Fluminense. This season, he has featured in 40 games in all competitions.

Liverpool have missed out on their top two summer targets after both Moisés Caicedo and Romeo Lavia opted to join Chelsea instead.

The Merseysiders have brought in Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister and it is believed that Klopp wants to add at least one midfielder to his squad before the window closes on September 1.
