Liverpool could sign Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure for £50m this summer following Chelsea and Arsenal deals in the transfer market, according to Football Insider.

Doucoure is on the radar of the Reds who are set to offload Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabia in the coming days. Both players are expected to undergo their medicals this weekend ahead of their proposed moves.

Henderson is set to join Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq while Fabinho closes in on Al-Ittihad switch.

The Merseysiders have been linked with a host of midfielders as possible replacements for the midfield duo including Romeo Lavia, Ryan Gravenberch, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Joshua Kimmich but Doucoure has emerged as a serious target.

Football Insider claims that Jurgen Klopp’s side are yet to make an official approach to Palace for Doucoure who moved to Selhurst Park last summer from Ligue 1 side Lens and went on to shine in his debut season.

The Mali international racked up 35 appearances and recorded three assists across all competitions as he helped the Eagles finish above Chelsea in the Premier League last term and was adjudged Palace’s Player of the Season.

Palace valued the defensive midfielder at £35m but the price tag increased as a result of the British-record Declan Rice deal and the Moises Caicedo saga.

Arsenal paid £105m for the signing of Rice from West Ham United while Chelsea have had a £70m offer rejected by Brighton for Caicedo who they value for more than £80m.

Doucoure has four years left on his remaining contract, therefore, Roy Hodgson’s side are under no pressure to sell him.

Liverpool have already wrapped deals for midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai this summer but are working on adding at least one midfielder to their squad before their opening Premier League game against Chelsea.
