Liverpool’s search for midfielders is continuing after Moises Caicedo completed his move to Chelsea.
The Reds thought they had won the race with Chelsea for the Ecuadorian only for the 21- year-old to turn them down in favour of a move to Stamford Bridge.
Romeo Lavia also looks set for a move to the Blues leaving the Anfield hierarchy once again considering their options as they look to replace Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.
Six Liverpool Midfield Targets
According to the Daily Mail, six names are in the frame as the end of the transfer window closes in.
Joao Palhinha of Fulham, Cheick Doucoure of Crystal Palace, and Andre Trindade have all been linked as possible replacements for Brazilian Fabinho after his move to Al-Ittihad.
Others players now back on their radar according to the outlet also include Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips, Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, and Nice’s Khephren Thuram.
Liverpool do not have time on their side and Jurgen Klopp will want to have someone in place as soon as possible.
After the 1-1 draw with Chelsea at the weekend, the Reds are back in action on Saturday against Bournemouth in their first home match of the season.
