Kostas Tsimikas is set to sign a new contract at Liverpool according to James Pearce of The Athletic.
The Greek international signed for the Reds in the summer of 2020 and has proved to be excellent backup for Andy Robertson.
Tsimikas is a popular player amongst Reds fans and teammates, and has been affectionately nicknamed ‘The Greek Scouser’. He will also go down in history for scoring the winning spot kick as Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties in the 2022 FA Cup Final.
The 27-year-old has struggled for game time this season but should find himself playing more regularly when the cup competitions get underway.
According to Pearce, Tsimikas has agreed to extend his contract at Anfield for another two years meaning he will remain on Merseyside until the summer of 2027.
