Liverpool have now reached an agreement with Southampton to sign Romeo Lavia. They have turned the tide and now look to beat Chelsea to the signing.
Many felt Chelsea would be the ones to sign Lavia in the last few hours but Liverpool have swooped in and agreed a fee with Southampton. The deal is not done as they must now convince the player.
Chelsea could still return with another bid but Lavia at the moment is Liverpool bound.
As reported by Jacob Steinberg, Liverpool have reached an agreement with Southampton for Romeo Lavia for £60million.
This comes after Chelsea beat Liverpool to the signing of Moises Caicedo. A defensive midfielder was needed, and Liverpool have now stretched themselves to try sign one.
Lavia will now have to decide whether he wants the move of if he wants to wait for Chelsea to bid again. The Belgian has been reported to be open to Liverpool in the past.
Chelsea may not bid again for Lavia at £60million after signing Moises Caicedo for £115million. The Blue’s could turn their attention elsewhere.
Key hours but Lavia, but Liverpool in a strong position.
