Liverpool are interested in a midfielder being chased by Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.
The Reds narrowly missed out on signing Moises Caicedo after he turned down a move to Anfield, preferring instead to move to Chelsea.
With Romeo Lavia also looking like he will end up at Stamford Bridge, the Anfield hierarchy appear to be no further forward as they look to replace Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.
Carlos Baleba Linked To Liverpool
According to Simon Jones of Mail Sport however, Liverpool are interested in the player that the Seagulls are looking at to replace Caicedo.
Lille’s Carlos Baleba is the player in question with reports claiming the Ligue 1 club would be after a fee of around £25million for the 19-year-old.
As to whether Liverpool are prepared to take their interest further in the midfielder who has played just 22 senior matches for the French club remains to be seen.
