Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for Juventus and Italy forward Federico Chiesa.
The 25-year-old starred for Italy in their run to Euro 2020 glory making him one of Europe’s hottest prospects with some reports at the time valuing him at close to €100million.
A serious knee injury picked up in January 2022 meant that Chiesa’s progress was put on hold for ten months however before he returned in November 2022.
Jurgen Klopp has long been rumoured as a big admirer of the exciting forward and the Reds have once again been linked with a move for him this summer.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Liverpool and Newcastle United are both potential buyers of the Italy international.
The outlet claims that Juventus could look to cash in on Chiesa this summer in order to raise funds and that he is ‘always in the thoughts of Liverpool and Newcastle.’
The Transfer Room Verdict On Federico Chiesa To Liverpool Rumours
After the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai, it seems extremely unlikely that the Anfield hierarchy will move for Chiesa this summer.
Liverpool already have plenty of competition in forward areas and the Hungarian is more than capable of filling in for Mohamed Salah when required on the right.
A move to Newcastle therefore may be far more realistic for Chiesa with the Magpies needing to balance the demands of Champions League football alongside the Premier League.
