Liverpool have officially submitted a bid worth £110 million for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Reds are set to break the English transfer record with the offer.
Chelsea up until a couple of days ago were the favourites to sign the Ecuadorian midfielder but as it stands their deal has been hijacked.
Brighton we’re going to sell to the highest bidder and that has come from Liverpool with their overall bid coming to £110 million.
Liverpool have been in the market for a defensive midfielder all summer and after the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson there was an urgent need for one.
It seemed that their main target was Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia however after having three bids rejected Liverpool moved onto Caicedo.
At just 21-years-old Caicedo is regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League and he had a lot of interest from him back in January from Arsenal.
He will be reunited with Alexis Mac Allister who also joined Liverpool from Brighton earlier on this summer.
