Liverpool and Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia remain in talks over a summer transfer according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Reds have shown they mean business this summer with the signings of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

As Jurgen Klopp tries to get his team back in the hunt for trophies, reports are suggesting that further incomings are likely.

Sky Sport Reporter Plettenberg also claims that remains a possibility with talks between Liverpool and Belgian Lavia described as ‘concrete and ongoing’.

He also suggests that whilst no agreement has been reached regarding personal terms, the 19-year-old is very much a player who is wanted by Klopp.

Lavia’s unique skill set would add much-needed competition for Brazilian Fabinho in Klopp’s engine room however the major sticking point as things stand appears to be Southampton’s £50million asking price for the defensive midfielder.

Liverpool may also have competition from their rivals in the race to sign Lavia, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich all having been linked with the midfielder over recent weeks.
