Liverpool’s offer for Moises Caicedo will break their transfer record as they are reportedly willing to spend 115 million euros on him.
The Reds are looking to hijack Chelsea’s move for the Ecuadorian midfielder after they had three bids rejected for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
So due to that they changed their focus to Caicedo but Chelsea do still remain the favourites after their long pursuit.
However it depends on which club will bid the most for the 21-year-old and if Chelsea can’t match Liverpool’s fresh offer then they won’t be in the race much longer.
At the moment Caicedo is in London waiting to see who makes the first move for him so that he can engage in negotiations about personal terms.
Liverpool have lost Fabinho and Jordan Henderson who would have played in the defensive midfield position so they have needed a replacement for a long time.
It appeared that Lavia was the priority but with a few days to go before the first game of the season Liverpool want Caicedo after already signing Alexis Mac Allister from the same club.
A deal will hinge on Caicedo’s preference with Bayern Munich also showing some interest.
