Luton Town are now set to sign former Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe, who was released as a free agent earlier on this summer by the club. Tuanzebe had been at United since 2014.
The newly promoted side are looking to add some new steel to their defence in a bid to stay up this season. Tuanzebe has Premier League experience, and a high level of potential if he stays fit.
A deal is expected to be done in the coming days.
Luton To Sign Tuanzebe:
As reported by Mirror Sport, Axel Tuanzebe is now set to sign for Luton Town. They have won the race for the former Manchester United defender’s signature.
Tuanzebe’s most famous night in a Manchester United shirt was in October of 2020. The English defender locked up Kylian Mbappe in a 2-1 win on the night for United, in a performance to remember.
Injuries have plagued Tuanzebe since then, and he never had a true run in the side to prove his worth. Tuanzebe has had loans at Napoli and Stoke in recent seasons, but neither came with huge success.
Luton will be hoping they can keep the player fit and try and tap into some of the potential he clearly possesses. A deal is now said to be just about done, pending only an annoucement.
