Manchester United admire Liverpool target Romeo Lavia, but he is not their most likely midfield signing this summer. The Red’s are much more likely to move for Sofyan Amrabat if they do sign another midfielder.
United’s interest in Lavia is long standing but they have never made any concrete moves towards signing the Belgian. Discussions have been had but no terms or any sort of bid have ever been made by United.
Liverpool remain in the lead to sign the Southampton midfielder this summer.
United Admire Lavia:
As reported by Tyrone Marshall, Manchester United admire Romeo Lavia, but they are more likely to move for Sofyan Amrabat. Liverpool are expected to sign Lavia in the coming weeks.
Lavia has been targeted by Liverpool all summer and a deal now looks likely after Fabinho’s departure. Liverpool will receive £40million from the sale of Fabinho, with Lavia being valued at around £50million.
United’s primary target for the midfield if they do sign another player is Sofyan Amrabat. Any move for the Moroccan would depend on sales. Scott McTominay has been linked with a move away, and Amrabat would be signed to replace him.
Lavia is also of interest to Arsenal but the Gunner’s would only move if Thomas Partey left the club this summer. Partey has interest from Saudi Arabia and Juventus.
The road is clear for Liverpool to make a move for Romeo Lavia, and the next few days may be key in the deal.
