Manchester United are now looking to sign Zion Suzuki as their number two goalkeeper. A deal to sign Andre Onana is close, and Suzuki could be signed as his understudy.
Suzuki is someone United have watched for some time and the interest surfaced in the media last week. The reported fee will be around £5million, which will be a Japanese League record.
United’s interest in Suzuki is concrete, and he is a serious option for number two goalkeeper.
United Interested In Zion Suzuki:
As reported by Simon Jones of Mail Sport, Manchester United are in for Zion Suzuki. The player could be signed as the club’s new number two goalkeeper.
Suzuki is just 20-years old but has played for Japan’s first team in a friendly. United’s scouts have been following Suzuki for years. The Japanese goalkeeper, who was born in the USA, plays for Urawa Red Diamonds in the J1 League.
The deal to bring Andre Onana to United is close, with United paying around €55million. Dean Henderson is expected to join Nottingham Forest for £25million, with Suzuki likely being targeted as his replacement.
United are yet to bid for the player as of yet but a bid has been anticipated for a number of days. The club are possibly waiting until a deal for Onana is done before chasing Suzuki.
The interest is real, and United could be signing a very promising young keeper in Zion Suzuki in next few weeks.
