Manchester United may add another midfielder to the squad this summer, and Sofyan Amrabat is a possible target. Mason Mount has signed for the club earlier today, but they could look to add another midfielder this summer.
United anticipate a number of players to leave in the midfield area this summer and are preparing to strengthen in that even. Amrabat is a long-term target for the Red’s, who tried to sign him on loan in January.
The Fiorentina midfielder has been tipped to leave the club this summer.
Amrabat To United?
As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Manchester United are interested in Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. Erik ten Hag managed Amrabat while he was at Utrecht.
Barcelona have been linked with Amrabat all summer but it has cooled in recent weeks. United enquired about the player in January, but Fiorentina would not let him leave on loan.
With a number of United midfielders expected to leave, the club are preparing for more incomings. There is a list of potential signings, and Amrabat is on that list. It will only become a factor if the sales do happen.
The priority for United now is Andre Onana, as they launched a bid last night for the Inter goalkeeper. Negotiations are expected to continue between the two clubs this week.
Amrabat would cost United around £25million, which is certainly a fair fee for a player of his quality. No official approach has been made as of yet, but it is likely something that will happen in August and not July.
Scott Mctominay has interest from Brighton, and Fulham are keen on signing Fred. If Mctominay does leave this summer, cover will almost certainly be needed for Casemiro.
