Manchester United are now in ongoing discussions with Zion Suzuki as they look to sign a second goalkeeper alongside Andre Onana. A deal for Onana is now in the final stages, and is likely to be a done deal in the coming hours.

With David De Gea gone and Dean Henderson open to leaving, United want to sign a young goalkeeper to play as understudy to Onana. Zion Suzuki is someone the club have followed for a number of years.

Talks will continue on the player side, but the two clubs are yet to discuss a deal as of now.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are in ongoing discussions with Zion Suzuki from Urawa Red’s Diamonds. The Japanese goalkeeper is of real interest to United.

United are focusing on the final details of the Andre Onana at the moment, and will then turn attention to Suzuki. The goalkeeper has been described as a serious candidate to be signed by the club.

Negotiations at the moment are not official, but United have confirmed to the player’s representatives that they are interested. Urawa Red’s are not open to losing Suzuki as of now, but a decent financial package could see them accept his depature.

Dean Henderson has interest from Nottingham Forest but United will not sanction his departure until the goalkeeper situation is resolved. Onana is very close, but a deal for Suzuki still has a long way to go.
