Manchester United have made an opening bid of €40million for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. The bid is not enough for Inter as of yet, but talks will continue between the two sides. United are eager to get a deal done for Onana.
With David De Gea gone from United as things stand, a goalkeeper has now become a priority for the club. Andre Onana is Erik ten Hag’s number one target for the position, and United are now working on getting the deal done.
United are expected to raise their bid in the coming days.
United Bid For Andre Onana:
As reported by Di Marzio, Manchester United have made an opening bid for Andre Onana. Inter Milan do not feel the bid is enough, but talks will continue.
Onana has given United the green light, and all that is left is for the clubs to agree a fee. Inter will sell Onana, but they want the fee they receive to be reasonable. The final fee the Italian side want is around €50million.
Both sides believe a deal can be done and the final fee may be somewhere in the middle of €50million. United are adamant on Onana as they look to replace David De Gea.
The Red’s are working on a strict budget but with this bid it looks like they feel a goalkeeper is a bigger priority than striker. Rasmus Hojlund is a striker target, but United look to have decided Onana is the more logical signing as of now.
If United do raise their offer in the next few days Inter will look to use the funds to re-sign Romelu Lukaku and sign David Fratessi from Sassuolo. The saga is not done yet. United will try again.
