Manchester United are now said to be preparing a bid for Santos striker Marcos Leonardo. The Red’s are hoping to hijack Roma’s attempts to sign the player. The bid United are said to be preparing trumps that of Roma’s bid. It is a position Erik ten Hag is keen on strengthening following Rasmus Hojlund’s back injury.
The striker position at United is currently in disarray. Rasmus Hojlund is yet to recover from his injury and Anthony Martial’s fitness remains a huge concern.
Marcos Leonardo would ease some of the worries surrounding the striker spot.
United In For LeonardoL
As reported by Gazzetta in Italy, Manchester United are now preparing a bid for Santos striker Marcos Leonardo.
The Brazilian League is one place United have not explored much in recent times, and they’ve missed out on some gems. Leonardo is a highly rated striker, and at just 20-years old represents a ton of potential.
Roma lead the race at the moment but United are hoping to hijack the deal according to the report. The Red’s are preparing a bid of €20million plus €5million in add-ons.
A striker and a midfielder are needed in the final days of the window for United, or they run the risk of a disaster season.
Marcos Leonardo, one to keep an eye on for Manchester United.
