Manchester United have rejected a loan offer from West Ham for defender Harry Maguire. This comes after United relieved Harry Maguire as is duties as captain yesterday.

United would prefer a permanent move for Maguire if they are to lose him this summer. A £40million asking price has been placed on the defender but clubs expect that to drop over the coming weeks to around £30million.

David Moyes is a huge fan of Maguire but a loan move does not benefit United financially.

West Ham Have Loan Bid For Maguire Rejected:

As reported by Jacob Steinberg of the Guardian, Manchester United have rejected a loan deal for Harry Maguire from West Ham. United are adamant on a permanent deal if they must lose Maguire.

United would have to sign another defender if Maguire did leave and they would not have the funds for that unless they got money for Maguire. Axel Disasi and Jean-Clair Todibo are targets and would cost in the region of £40million.

Maguire would prefer to stay and fight for his place and United will not force their former captain out. It would take a decent offer for the Red’s to part ways with the defender.

Clubs interested in Maguire are aware of the £40million asking price but are convinced if they wait that the fee will drop. West Ham tried with their recent loan offer but United made it very clear they are only dealing with permanent offers.

Bruno Fernandes is expected to take over as United captain after Maguire was relieved yesterday. The defender posted a classy message detailing the news, and stated how much it meant to him being the captain in the first place.

West Ham are still interested in Maguire, but they will have to try again with some cash if they are to sign him this summer.
