Manchester United remain optimistic of signing Andre Onana despite negotiations hitting a bit of a snag recently. United are still locked in negotiations with the Italian side, with today being a massive day for the deal.

Thursday has been mentioned as a huge day for the deal for the last week and now that the day has come it’s up to United now. Inter are expecting a bid from the Red’s today, and could keep Onana for the season if one does not arrive.

Inter are holding out for €55million, but United are looking for some compromise from Inter.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United remain optimistic of completing a deal for Andre Onana. A bid is anticipated today. Both clubs want the deal to happen.

Inter need the funds from the Onana sale to sign two new goalkeepers. The funds will also go towards an attempt to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea. The Italian side have already identified Yann Sommer and Anatoliy Trubin as replacements for Onana.

United are adamant on Onana but they do not want to be taken for ransom in the market. Despite this, there is an optimism from not just United, but Inter too that a deal will be done.

€55million is the expected fee with United already having two bids rejected worth €45million and €50million. The two clubs have been locked in negotiations for the last two weeks over the deal. United allowed David De Gea to leave on a free because they believed a deal for Onana would materialize.

Many felt the deal was as good as done last week but this was never the case. Thursday remains a vital day for the deal, as new direct talks are scheduled to try and overcome the hurdles.
