Manchester United have sold Alex Telles to Al Nassr for £4million, in a deal Fabrizio Romano calls good business. United signed Telles for £13million in 2021, and the player has been underwhelming ever since.

Al Nassr have offered United a lifeline in taking Telles off their hands. European clubs wanted the Brazilian left-back but were only willing to take him on a free transfer. Al Nassr paid the fee, which is £4million plus some add-ons.

Telle’s sale also frees up around £5.2million a year in wages.

Alex Telles To Al Nassr:

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have sold Alex Telles to Al Nassr. It’s the first senior player United have sold this summer.

Alex Telles spent last season on loan at Sevilla where he won the Europa League, knocking Manchester United out in the process. The defender never hit the heights many felt he would upon joining United, and this is the correct end for all parties.

United have three left-backs ready to play first-team football now and Telles was never likely to be part of Erik ten Hag’s squad. The defender joins Al Nassr, where he will play with former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Telles is not the only United player Saudi clubs have interest in. Fred is wanted by a number of clubs in the league, but has yet to make a decision on his future. Telles will earn £7m net per season at Al Nassr.

United are focusing on sales now as they try and raise some funds for a deal to sign Rasmus Hojlund. A bid is anticipated soon from United to Atalanta.
