With the recent injury problems, Manchester United are targeting Ryan Bertrand for a short-term deal, according to a report on Friday.

The Red Devils are currently in an injury crisis with players such as Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw all facing problems as things stand. That comes with the already questionable form United have displayed so far this season.

Erik Ten Hag has provided an update on who might be back and when (You can see all the quotes here) but either way, there is currently a significant issue at left-back within the squad.

Both natural left-backs (Shaw and Malacia) are injured, leaving only Diogo Dalot (A right-back) and Alvaro Fernandez (Who has yet to play a game for United’s first team in a competitive fixture).

A report from Friday morning suggested that they could be in for a new player in the position to cover while the two recover. However, it was not said who that could be or how likely it actually is to happen.

Stretty News have reported that Ryan Bertrand could be the man. The 34-year-old is a free agent at the moment after leaving Leicester City at the end of last season. It is said that initial discussions have taken place with his agent over a move.

Bertrand has made 262 Premier League appearances in his career, so would be an experienced addition to the squad if not anything else.
