Manchester United are set to focus on outgoings after the Andre Onana deal is complete, and Dean Henderson is expected to be one of the first. The United goalkeeper is close to joining Nottingham Forest.

Henderson had a good season until his injury at Forest last year and they are keen on bringing him back. United are open to the sale of the 26-year old. They are likely to get around £20million for Henderson.

The deal is said to be close, and it will benefit United’s transfer budget this summer and also their FFP battle.

Henderson Close To Forest Move:

As reported by Chris Wheeler of Mail Sport, Manchester United’s Dean Henderson is close to joining Nottingham Forest on a permanent deal.

United signing a new number one means Henderson was never in their plans for next season. The United man wants to play first team football on a regular basis, and would only have been second choice if he stayed at United.

The Red’s are targeting Urawa Red’s goalkeeper Zion Suzuki to play as number two. United could sign the Japanese goalkeeper for £5million in the next few days. Tom Heaton is also tipped to join Luton Town once United have their goalkeeper situation sorted.

Henderson had one season when he broke into United’s first-team, and performed well during that period. United beat Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad with Henderson in goal, and the goalkeeper helped them towards a 2nd place finish that season.

£20million represents good value for all parties, and it will allow United to pursue a striker and a second midfielder before the summer window closes.

The deal is now close, and more movement is anticipated in the coming days.
