Liverpool have got a medical planned for Moises Caicedo on Friday according to David Ornstein.
The deal is set to be wrapped up at some point on Friday after Liverpool offered more money then Chelsea for the 21-year-old.
A fee which will be worth £110 million is what Liverpool bid whereas Chelsea offered £10 million less as Brighton gave both sides a midnight deadline.
So due to this the Ecuadorian international will be moving to Merseyside to join up with Jurgen Klopp.
Personal terms won’t be a problem and will be very easy to agree on between Caicedo and Liverpool.
Chelsea had been chasing Caicedo all summer but their move was hijacked and now they are showing interest in Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
Liverpool had seemingly made Lavia their top target and had three bids rejected but instead opted to make history by breaking the English transfer record for Caicedo.
He will need to get up to speed at Liverpool so as it stands his former Brighton teammate is likely to play in the defensive midfield role.
If a deal is done in time though Liverpool could include him in their squad on Sunday even though that is doubtful.
With just a month left in the transfer window it’ll be interesting to see if Liverpool have any funds left for more signings with a defender also seen as a priority this summer.
