Andre Onana will be on a plane to New York today to meet up with the rest of his team-mates for pre-season. United are going on a tour of the US, and Onana is finally confirmed to be a part of that tour.
The Inter goalkeeper is yet to be announced by United officially but an announcement is expected in due course. Medicals have been done and the contract has been signed by the player.
Onana is United’s second summer signing after Mason Mount.
Onana To Fly To New York:
As reported by James Ducker of the Telegraph, Manchester United’s new signing Andre Onana will be on a flight to New York today to take part in pre-season.
Erik ten Hag has finally got hold of his new goalkeeper, and he will be able to see how he gets on in pre-season. United have been without a number one since David De Gea left the club earlier this month.
Manchester United will pay Inter around £43million plus add-ons for Onana. The Red’s have no recognised out and out number nine on the tour, and are working on signing Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta. A deal of around £60million could happen, but no agreement has been reached.
It’s a new era for United with Onana in net. It’s the first time the club have went on a pre-season tour without David De Gea since the 11/12 season when he was signed. Onana will be hoping he can fill the gloves of the Spaniard, who holds the clean sheet record at the club.
The official announcement for Onana is expected later today by United.
