Newcastle United have reportedly stolen a march on Manchester United in the race for Axel Disasi, with the club agreeing personal terms with the French defender. Both clubs are interested, but Man United’s move depends on sales. Newcastle’s does not.
Disasi has been identified as both clubs as a potential player to come in and help their defence. The Frenchman has featured for the French National team and can play a number of positions across the back line.
Newcastle now look to be in the lead over Manchester United in the race for Disasi.
Newcastle Agree Terms With Disasi:
As reported by Football Transfers, Newcastle have agreed personal terms with Monaco defender Axel Disasi. Reports in France are also suggesting the same.
Manchester United have interest in Disasi but he was never a priority target. The midfield, striker and goalkeeper positions took priority, with a defender depending on sales.
Newcastle however are open to trying to get Disasi now. Their interest is concrete and despite Disasi also being open to a move to Man United, he looks to have agreed terms with Newcastle.
A fee is not yet known for certain due to Monaco changing their sporting director. The general feeling is around £40million. Disasi is very likely to leave.
Manchester United could turn their attention to Jean-Clair Todibo if they miss out on Disasi. The Nice defender has been on the list since the beginning of the window.
