Newcastle United could end up joining the race for Manchester United’s Scott Mctominay, according to a report.
West Ham United have been strongly linked to the midfielder recently and reports say they have launched a bid for both him and central defender Harry Maguire, with the possibility of them signing at least one of the two looking strong.
According to Sky Sports, West Ham aren’t alone in being interested in the Scotsman though, with them saying Newcastle are interested. They say that they could end up acting on their interest, depending on other deals.
After a few incoming already this summer, it seems about time United sell some players to raise funds for more signings, and Mctominay could be the first significant sale of the transfer window for the club.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked to Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who you would think would require at least one midfielder to leave before his signing is given the green light.
Brazilian Fred has also been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester, however. and he looks even more likely to leave.
