Manchester United have explored a deal for Monaco defender Axel Disasi this summer but any move depends on sales. Harry Maguire is someone the club could sell, but no bids have been made as of yet.
United would only push forward a move for Disasi if Maguire was to leave. The English defender is eager to fight for his place at the club under Erik ten Hag, but will be wary of game time costing him his England place.
Newcastle want Disasi and do not depend on sales to bring him in.
Newcastle Lead Race For Disasi:
As reported by Florian Plettenburg, Newcastle United lead the race to sign Axel Disasi this summer. Eddie Howe’s are now pushing for the defender.
Talks have taken place between Newcastle and Monaco and Disasi has also given Newcastle the green light. No offer has been made as of yet but the conversations are ongoing.
Monaco would look for around £40million to sell Disasi. United have also held talks on player side but have not made any sort of concrete offer on club side. Newcastle are likely to make a concrete offer soon.
West Ham United are interested in Harry Maguire and may make a move after selling Declan Rice for £105million. United want £40million for Maguire.
Newcastle making a bid may force United to step up interest for Disasi, but for now the Magpie’s lead the race.
