Thiago Alcantara is considering his future at Liverpool according to a report.
The 32-year-old signed from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2020 and immediately won the hearts of Reds fans.
When fit and in form, the Spanish international has been a joy to watch for Liverpool but all too often, he has been hit by nagging injury troubles.
With just one year left on his contract, there had been speculation that Thiago could be subject to interest from Saudi, with Galatasaray also reported to be monitoring his situation.
According to Sport, however, with no sign of a new contract in the offing at Anfield, he finds himself in a situation where he has reached a ‘crossroads’ in his Liverpool career.
The Spanish publication claims that now he has returned to full training after hip surgery, he is open to interest from La Liga having been linked to Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo, and Sevilla.
The Transfer Room’s Verdict On The Liverpool Future Of Thiago Alcantara
Jurgen Klopp badly needs to retain the services of Thiago as he looks set to lose the experience of skipper Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi clubs.
Before the news broke that the pair could depart, there had already been significant turnover in Liverpool’s midfield this summer after James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain exited at the end of their contracts.
As well as needing the Spaniard for his experience, Thiago is still a tremendous player who could thrive in a new-look midfield alongside new arrivals Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
