Harry Maguire has looked like a player with a weight off his shoulders in pre-season for United since having the captains armband taken off him, and West Ham are now looking to sign the defender.
United are not openly looking to sell Maguire but will listen to offers if they do arrive. Talks have been ongoing between West Ham and United, and a loan offer has already been rejected in negotiations.
West Ham are also pursuing a move for United midfielder Scott McTominay.
West Ham Remain In Talks For Maguire:
As reported by Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports, West Ham are still in talks with Manchester United over a possible move for Harry Maguire.
United are only listening to permanent offers for Maguire this summer as they would need funds to buy a replacement if he does leave. The Red’s value the defender at around £40million.
West Ham’s interest in Scott McTominay could help them in their pursuit of Maguire however, with a package deal something that could be explored by the two clubs.
The Hammer’s are fully pursuing a move for McTominay, who United value at around £45million. Maguire wants to stay at United but is wary of his game time costing him a place in the England team.
David Moyes is a huge fan of Maguire and is pushing West Ham to try and agree a transfer for the defender. Talks will continue in the coming days.
