West Ham now expect to sign an alternative for Harry Maguire in the next 24 hours. A deal for the United defender has now fallen through.
United are now expected to miss out on a replacement in the shape of Benjamin Pavard, with Maguire staying at the club.
West Ham grew frustrated with the process surrounding the deal.
As reported by Jason Burt of the Telegraph, West Ham expect to sign an alternative for Harry Maguire in the next 24 hours.
The Hammer’s grew tired of the time it was taking to complete the Maguire deal. A £30million fee was agreed, but a deal has not moved forward.
Maguire is waiting on a pay-off from Manchester United due to the pay cut he will take at West Ham. Until that situation is resolved, the player will not be going anywhere.
The decision to wait could now cost United signing a replacement in their pursuit for Benjamin Pavard. The French defender is pushing for a move, but it’s now unlikely.
Deal in jeopardy, Maguire likely to stay.
