West Ham and their pursuit of Harry Maguire is now off. The Hammer’s have walked away from the deal as it was taking too much time.
United are now unlikely to spend any money on a new defender now, with Maguire likely to stay at the club. Benjamin Pavard or Jean-Clair Todibo are unlikely to join.
A midfielder is expected to finish United’s business in this window.
West Ham Walk Away From Maguire Deal:
As reported by Jacob Steinberg, West Ham have now walked away from a £30million deal for Harry Maguire. They felt it was taking too long.
The hold up was around the payoff United had to give Maguire. The wage gap was so big from United to West Ham a payoff was needed.
West Ham have grown frustrated with the process and have now walked away from the deal. This has ruined plans for United.
Erik ten Hag was looking to sign Benjamin Pavard but the deal is now very unlikely to happen. Sofyan Amrabat is expected to be the final signing of the window.
Maguire now staying at Manchester United barring any changes.
