Sheikh Jassim is now the most likely candidate to win the race to takeover Manchester United, according to Bloomberg. The takeover situation has been ongoing since last November, but is now nearing the end. A resolution is anticipated by the years end.
INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe remain in the race, but the Qatari bid from Sheikh Jassim is now favourite. There was a feeling the Glazer family would try and stay, but it seems impossible due to the current state of the club.
There is no signs of the Glazer’s being able to sell Manchester United for any more than £7billion in the future.
The Time Is Now:
Despite a record year for revenue last season for Manchester United, the writing is on the wall. The club is on a downward spiral under the Glazer’s leadership, and it will only get worse.
Communication is key in any successful business, and the Glazer’s have left everybody in limbo. Staff, managers and player are in the dark about the takeover, and that can’t happen at a club like this.
Sheikh Jassim is bidding to buy the full club, and that is what’s needed. The Glazer mark needs to be wiped from the club in every aspect, and that’s why the INEOS bid is less appealing to the Manchester United faithful.
Bloomberg have been consistent in the belief Sheikh Jassim would win the race, and we now seem to be nearing that happening.
A new dawn for Manchester United is on the horizon, and if it rises, they will be hoping it shines brighter than the last.
