Manchester United are now close to signing Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki in a deal worth £5million. Suzuki is expected to be the second choice goalkeeper for United if a deal goes through.

The Red’s pursuit of Andre Onana is close to completition, but they want to sign two goalkeepers for next season. Dean Henderson will leave the club, and that would leave Tom Heaton as the only understudy for Onana.

United’s scouts have watched Zion Suzuki for the last 6 years.

United Close To Zio Suzuki:

According to sources close to us here at the Transfer Room, Manchester United are close to signing Zion Suzuki. The deal will be around £5million.

The sources described the deal as likely to happen, but did state that the goalkeeper has other offers inside the J1 League. United are willing to pay £5million to secure the services of Suzuki.

Andre Onana will be first choice for United next season if they can agree a deal, and Suzuki is likely to be number two. David De Gea is gone, and is currently unlikely to sign a new deal.

Suzuki is 20-years old and plays for Uruwa Red Diamonds in the J1 League in Japan. He has made one appearance for the National team in a 6-0 win against Hong Kong. He was born in America, and was born to a Ghanaian mother.

The transfer is likely to happen barring any change of heart from either party.
