Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has received a ‘very good offer’ from Galatasaray according to a report in Turkey.

The 32-year-old is into the final year of his contract at Anfield after signing from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the summer of 2020.

The Spanish international quickly won the hearts of Reds supporters with a string of outstanding performances. His stay at Anfield however has been blighted by injury trouble which has limited his playing time.

Whilst Thiago has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia over recent weeks, it had been reported that his focus was very much on seeing out his final year at Liverpool.

According to Fanatik (via Liverpool Echo) however, Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur has already held talks with the midfielder and made him a ‘very good offer’.

The Turkish outlet suggests that Timur has also sounded out the Anfield hierarchy over what it might take to sign the midfield craftsman.

The Transfer Room’s Verdict On Thiago Alcantara’s Future

After the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, there are still suggestions that Jurgen Klopp wants to add another midfielder to his squad.

Romeo Lavia of Southampton is the player with the hottest links as things stand but some reports have claimed that any potential move could be dependent on outgoings.

Thiago appears to be generating the most transfer interest out of Liverpool’s current batch of midfielders and did not appear to train with his teammates when the players returned to the AXA Training Centre on Saturday.

A fit Thiago alongside the likes of Mac Allister and Szobozslai is an exciting prospect for Reds fans however so they will be hoping he sees out the remainder of his contract at Anfield.

As to whether he will still be there at the start of September remains somewhat debatable, however.
