Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has opened up on his player Benjamin Pavard possibly leaving the club, amid the links to Manchester United.

The Red Devils have already made three new signings this summer in Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund, but are said to be in for a midfielder and potentially a defender.

Pavard is one that has been strongly linked to the club recently amid rumours he wants to leave the German champions. However, it does not yet look like a bid has been made.

But Tuchel has played down such reports, saying: “Benji hasn’t communicated to me that he really wants to leave. As of now, there hasn’t been an offer. He’s our player and gets full support. Until that changes, we’re fully counting on him.”

Playing as a central defender or a right-back for Bayern usually, it is unclear which position Erik Ten Hag could want him for, but with the departure of Harry Maguire looking less likely than it did a week ago, it could be that he doesn’t sign for the club if the Englishman stays. Pavard has also been linked to Inter Milan for a transfer.

The target’s teammate Ryan Gravenberch has also been linked with United recently, with Liverpool also said to be after him.

The window closes on Friday the 1st of September, 11pm.
