Liverpool’s players were back on the training pitch at the AXA Training Centre today after the international break and ahead of their Premier League clash with Wolves at the weekend.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have taken an impressive ten points from their opening four matches, overcoming red cards in two of those to make it an encouraging start to the season.
The German will be hoping to see the positive momentum continue when they face the tricky looking trip to Molineux in Saturday’s early match.
Virgil van Dijk will be unavailable as he serves the additional one match ban given to him as a result of his reaction to his sending off in the victory over Newcastle United.
Liverpool Injury Update
As Liverpool’s players returned for training on Thursday, both Thiago Alcantara (hip) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (hamstring) were absent and are therefore doubtful for the match against Gary O’ Neil’s team.
Darwin Nunez was also missing with Reds fans concerned since Tuesday that the 24-year-old has picked up an injury, after Uruguay head coach Marcelo Bielsa suggested that he had ‘muscle difficulties’.
Klopp will no doubt provide more clarity on the status of Nunez at his press conference on Friday. There should be no immediate concern with all players returning from South America seemingly given an extra day to recover.
There was some positive news however with Ibrahima Konate back on the training pitch after a muscle issue and hopefully available for the clash.
