Jarrod Bowen put West Ham United on the verge of victory in Europe with a 90th-minute strike to put West Ham United 2-1 up.
After Saïd Benrahma’s penalty gave the Hammers the lead, Fiorentina fought back and levelled through a calm finish from Giacomo Bonaventura.
With the game looking like it would be going to extra time, Lucas Paquetá played a defence-splitting ball through to Bowen, who raced through to place the ball confidently past Pietro Terracciano.
West Ham fans were left waiting as VAR checked for offside, but they didn’t have to wait long to continue the celebrations as the late strike looks to have sealed it for the Hammers.
